A beautiful country inside and out

Ireland is known for many things; lush landscapes, brewing and distilling, religion, architecture, and of course, peat, pubs, and potatoes. The depth of of a country’s culture simply cannot be communicated until one has experienced it, and my whirlwind trip through Ireland was a brief glimpse of a truly beautiful country. I had a particular interest in visiting Ireland due to my education in the Gaelic language throughout secondary school, and my friendship with several Irish citizens. I was delighted to be able to refamiliarize myself with the language and explore the culture through that avenue. In addition to the beautiful terrain, cities, food, and other cultural aspects, the people truly brought it all together. Friendly, fun, warm and open hearted, I could not have wished for a better welcome from friends and strangers alike. Despite staying only a short time, I truly felt at home in Ireland by the time I left. The country, culture, and citizens laid claim to my affection, and you can count me as the first aboard the next Irish expedition! Beth Juber
